Hunting Unicorns is a series of short, animated films done in collaboration with people who were raised in fundamentalist Christian communities in the United States. We aim to raise awareness of the loss of self that can happen when you are raised “fundy” and to give hope to individuals currently struggling with spiritual abuse to show there is life after fundamentalism. As these people could face repercussions for speaking out, we utilize Metahuman avatars animated with Live link Face allowing participants to animate their custom avatars with their own expressions. We also alter their voices with 11labs, which uses AI to change voices while preserving speech patterns.
